Research - Unit 6

This 3d layered photo that is in the frame is just simply the same image multiplied but with the subject cut out and layered on with the skateboard that is in the image cut out and layered on top of that as well this technique tends to be used with cards to give the image on the front an illusion of it being 3D. For my image I will take aspects from this an apply them to my idea. The parts I will take from it will be the multiple layered images but mount them together in a different way to how they have in these images. In the images they used adhesive foam squares where I will use foam core or adhesive foam board to mount them and raise one from the other. Other ideas that I have found out about are holograms that consists of 4 images with clear plastic or glass in the shape of a pyramid, with the tip end down on a screen. The screen then reflects onto the clear plastic giving the illusion of there actually being a physical object.

This idea can be used for even videos that then allow you to have the illusion of the object actually being there. An example of this is HERE.

There are different ways of creating a 3D image some dont have to be analog either and the digital ones can sometimes seem more 3D than their analog counterparts.

 

The style that this animated gif is in is typically called a wigglegram or also known as a stereograph, and they give a 3D effect due to multiple cameras (often 2 or 3) set up to each take an image at the exact same time to then later be stitched together and set on loop to keep cycling through those images that are all slightly offset from each other and tend to curve around a subject so that it shows the angles of perspective from the viewers left and right eyes that will later only show up for a fraction of a second to allow the subject to seem to have depth and physicality to them. This is one of the ideas that has inspired me to create my own for the project and has given me the information that I need to create my own.
